The diameter of the intake port on S&S cylinder heads measures 1.780", about .150" larger than stock. It is uniquely shaped and also equipped with a directional vane that is located in the floor of the port. Standard S&S intake valve diameter is 2". Heads can be used with 3 1/2" or 3 5/8" bore cylinders, 1984 & later, bottom breather or head breather. Using S&S premium quality V2 valve springs which feature an inner flat wound damper spring designed to eliminate damaging harmonics. Used with cam lifts up to .630" Flow is increased 25% over stock Kit includes front and rear cylinder heads completely assembled with guides, valve seats, valves and springs. Pistons sold separately. |

S&S Super Stock Shovel style cylinder heads for 1966 thru 1984 Big Twin are disigned primarily for stock replacement applications where traditional looks are important. READILY BOLT ON: S&S Super Stock heads are readily bolt on and fit like stock. Frame an/or other clearancing problems are nonexistent. Exhaust systems with stock dimensions can be used. Stock rocker cover assemblies are not included and are installed using hardware provided. FLOW BENCH RESULTS: Although S&S Super Stock heads for Shovel Big Twin are designed for stock replacement applications, flo characteristics have been improved. Where stock heads typically pass about 124 cfm @ 10" of water, S&S heads flow about 10 cfm better and yield 135. High Output Super Stock Cylinder Head Kit includes front and rear cylinder heads completely assembled with valve seats and guides, valves, valves springs, etc., ready to run, gaskets required for installation including cylinder base and head gaskets, rocker cover and exhaust port gaskets, rocker cover and exhaust pipe mounting hardware, and installation instructions. |

S&S
cylinder heads are cast from a premium material developed for air-cooled
aircraft cylinder heads. A closed, high-quench combustion chamber
design requiring matched piston dome and combustion chamber shapes
contributes to optimum combustion chamber/cylinder flow characteristics
during the filling, combustion, and exiting cycles. The superior
mixture flow and turbulence also provide excellent flame travel resulting
in a clean and efficient burning of the air/fuel mixture. This means
dual spark plug configurations for normal operation are not needed nor
recommended.
