• close ratio Andrews or Jims gears and shafts which feature high nickel alloy gears for maximum strangth and lead in ramps for quicker, more positive shifting.

• These transmissions are designed to be one of the strongest on the market with extra case thickness and full support gussets where needed.

4 Speed Transmissions
with Andrews Gears

These complete transmissions are perfect for those building new bikes or just replacing that old worn out transmission.  Just add oil, your choice of drive sprocket and release lever.  The will fit most 4 speed frames from 1970 thru early 1984 and both versions feature close ratio rated gears by Andrews.  These gears are highly regarded for their smoothness of shifting and reliability.  The 2.44:1 close ratio first gear with 1.35:1 close ratio third is ideal for FX and lighter custom bikes.  The 2.60:1 closes ratrio first with 1.35:1 close ratio third is ideal for FL or heavier touring bikes.  Both of these gear sets will allow more usable first gear speed, eliminate the notorious 2nd gear "clunk" and will provide for more pull in 3rd gear.  The third gear sets are also the loose roller style which are preferred by many builders.  The Chrome Horse^tm heavy duty transmission cases are made from "356" aluminum alloy and are heat treated to "T-6".  Other features include a chrome plated ratchet top assembly and kicker cover, and 1:1 ratio speedometer drive gears.  All Chrome Horse^tm transmissions are carefully and thoroughly bench tested after assembly to insure quality and workmanship.

• Castings in CNC machined permanent molds from A356 aluminum and hardened to T6 specification, then fully machined on stat-of-the-art Mazak FH Horizontal Machining Center.  5 Speed case is patent pending.

• Available in cast finish, polished finish, or for 5 speed, black powder coat.
